SIBA Seeks Bookstore Profiles

Posted By: Nicki Leone SIBA News,

During SIBA's Orientation this week, SIBA Membership Coordinator Candice Huber spoke about some of the ways SIBA seeks to raise the visibility of member stores in their own communities and within the book industry. One of the things they asked bookstores to do was submit a Bookstore Profile.

The Bookstore Profile is a short interview for booksellers to talk about their store and the things that motivate them as booksellers. Alongside basic store information such as address, website, and hours of operation, the interview asks about favorite hand-sell titles, what community partners the store works with, and top priorities for the coming year.

SIBA publishes store profiles in its newsletter to introduce stores to the book industry at large. A  tailored version also runs in the consumer-targeted The Southern Bookseller Review to introduce stores to readers and potential new customers.

With the recent launch of its new website, SIBA has also designated space on its homepage to run store profiles for anyone in the book industry to read.
