Membership Information

Independent, privately-owned legal entities actively  engaged in the business of bookselling in our region (AL, AR, FL, GA, KY, LA, MS, NC, SC, TN, VA) may be eligible for SIBA "core membership." The bookselling venue may take the form of a physical (brick and mortar) store, an online store, a recurring pop-up shop, or a mobile venue, but physical books (including e-books and audiobook versions) must represent more than 50% of the entity’s overall gross revenue to be eligible for core membership. Bookstores with multiple locations must register each location separately. Bookseller members may also create accounts for their employees at no extra cost.

Bookstores with eligible ecommerce systems may qualify for free membership under SIBA's Combined Regional Bookstore Banner program. Core Bookstores are voting members.

For bookstores that will meet the requirements of a Core Bookstore member but are not yet open or doing business. Provisional Bookstores are non-voting members.

Independent, privately-owned legal entities actively engaged in the business of bookselling but are located outside of our region (AL, AR, FL, GA, KY, LA, MS, NC, SC, TN, VA). Out of Territory Bookstores are non-voting members.

Publishers, Distributors, Sales Reps, Commission Reps, Wholesalers, Media, Vendors, and anyone else involved in the bookselling industry. Industry members may also create accounts for their employees at no extra cost. Industry  are non-voting members.

Authors with books or ebooks scheduled for publication within a year, or in print in the United States, and available at Bookshop.org. Authors are non-voting members.
