What We're Reading, Listening to, and Watching This Week (1/25/2026)

Linda-Marie BarrettLinda-Marie Barrett / Executive Director:
Reading: The Keeper of Stories by Sally Page. I’m rereading this lovely book for my book club. A house cleaner collects the stories of the people whose homes she tends to, all the while keeping secret a story of her own. This debut novel is so clever, funny, and ultimately moving.
Listening: It’s windy and single digits out, but our Carrier heat pump hums along and I’m so grateful!
Watching: Aside from watching the usual assortment of television shows available on Acorn and Britbox, I’ve been watching the hours tick by as I struggle to complete a LOTR jigsaw puzzle that’s rated “hard,” and feels impossible. Probably easy for a hobbit, though.

Reading: I've been trying my best to find time to read! Currently on the list is A Power Unbound by Freya Marske and The Radical Bookstore by Kimberly Kinder.
Listening: My space heaters strategically heating rooms around the house.
Watching: According to Serializd, the app I use to track my TV viewing, I am currently watching 13 shows. The most recent two are Scream Queens, an older horror/comedy show that I somehow missed, but finding it delightful, and the reboot of Star Search on Netflix, for nostalgia's sake.

Nicki LeoneNicki Leone / Communications:
Reading: Still in the Motherland by Julia Ioffe.
Listening: NPR podcasts, so I don't have to see the news on TV and look at the pictures.
Watching: Zoom. We had our annual staff "retreat" this week, and I really racked up the screen time.

Reading: Jeanette Winterson's One Aladdin Two Lamps: "The untidy exuberance of these stories — taking their character from where they land, finding their way through geography and history, mobilizing different cultures and customs to extend their reach, cleverly settling wherever they are received, before moving on — is emblematic of humanity itself. No other species adapts to everywhere and anywhere. Hot or cold. Harsh or fertile. Sea and land. This is the human success story. Multiple. Teeming. Expansive. Inventive. Ceaseless."
Listening: Much music over the cold, icy weekend.
Watching: The latest lunchtime watch is Industry, about an investment bank in London in which all the bankers are impossibly good-looking and spend a lot of time doing everything except banking.

Andi RichardsonAndrea Richardson / Sales:
Reading: I've been tearing through books since I've been iced in at home. Currently I'm into a bound manuscript of Hot Girl Murder Club by Ashley Winstead, who I adore.
Listening
: To the ice falling off my roof and not much else. It's cold out there.
Watching: We have been trying to work through all the Oscar movies ahead of the ceremony. We've done One Battle After Another, Sinners and Frankenstein so far. I'm still obsessed with The Traitors, too, but once a week episode drops are not fast enough for me!
