Financial Assistance Still Available for New Voices New Rooms Conference

Posted By: Nicki Leone NVNR,

Over 65 booksellers from 43 different bookstores have already registered for New Voices New Rooms since the conference opened registrations on April 2.

Because NVNR serves bookstores from such a large region -- almost the entire eastern seaboard and beyond -- the NVNR team works hard to make the conference affordable even for booksellers who have to travel lengthy distances to attend:

Early Bird pricing: Full event passes are $250 through the month of April. The price goes up to $300 on May 1.

NVNR Travel Grants: NVNR awards twelve travel grants of $500 each to booksellers to help defray the cost of attending the conference. In 2026, we moved the submission deadline up to April 3 so that booksellers who do not receive a grant are still able to register at early bird prices.

SIBA: Although applications have closed for NVNR travel grants and the SIBA Registration Scholarships, SIBA has a number of other grants and scholarships created to help bookstores attend their annual conference that are still open and accepting applications. These grants are often underwritten by industry partners who are invested in promoting bookseller development. SIBA awards over $12,000 every year to booksellers in the form of scholarships for education.

The following grants all provide funding for bookseller development, including help attending conferences. Booksellers should apply for any scholarship or grant they are eligible for:

  • Binc Scholarship
  • BIPOC Booksellers Development Scholarship
  • George Keating Memorial Scholarship
  • Macmillan Booksellers Professional Development Scholarship
  • Jamie Anderson SIBA Retiring Board Member Scholarship
  • Wanda Jewell Scholarship for Bookseller Professional Development
