What We're Reading, Listening to, and Watching This Week (3/22/2026)

Linda-Marie BarrettLinda-Marie Barrett / Executive Director:
Reading: Light on Life: The Yoga Journey to Wholeness, Inner Peace, and Ultimate Freedom by B.K.S. Iyengar. This is a reread of a book filled to the brim with helpful wisdom. Also reading and enjoying She’ll be Killing ‘Round the Mountain by Bryan Robinson. I’ll be "in conversation" with him at his book launch at Malaprop’s Bookstore/Cafe, and I need to prep!
Listening: Enjoying, as always, the Cat Stevens station on Pandora, and the sounds of spring: birdsong, creatures rustling in the leaves beyond my office window, and folks passing by with their dogs.
Watching: Finished Virgin River’s newest season and looking forward to the newest season of Death in Paradise.

Candice HuberCandice Huber / Membership:
Reading: I brought the following books with me on vacation: The Shadow Cabinet by Juno Dawson, Fabulous Bodies by Chuck Tingle, and All Hail Chaos by Sarah Rees Brennan. Considering I haven't had the brain for reading in a while, we'll see how it goes!
Listening
: To the sounds of gentle waves and a warm breeze while sitting in my cabana on a cruise ship in the Pacific Ocean.
Watching
: Fun live entertainment, including talks from authors like Ryka Aoki and Amal El-Mohtar and a live comedy set from Ron Funches, who recently competed on The Traitors!

Nicki LeoneNicki Leone / Communications:
Reading: STILL on Transversal by Maria Popova. But I also have Autobiography of Cotton by Cristina Rivera Garza on tap.
Listening: David Naiman talking with Lily Dunn about her book Into Being: the Radical Craft of Memoir and Its Power to Transform, on BTC (Between the Covers podcast).
Watching: Well, it is opening season for baseball. Even if I wasn't watching, I would have heard the yells as the Yankees beat the Giants 7-0 last night.

SP RankinSP Rankin / Website Administrator:
Reading: Book reading is still sidelined a bit, though I am constantly tempted by new things as I work on summer catalog content!
Listening: My 17-hour and growing playlist called "Grocery Store Sushi" that I have been slowly building over the last few months. Each new addition has been prompted by a particular experience or conversation or memory or mood, so it's kind of like listening to a scrapbook.
Watching:
The second season of Deadloch, which so far is just as hilarious, dark, gay, and thoroughly Australian as the first season.

Andi RichardsonAndrea Richardson / Sales:
Reading: Since it's Trans Rights Readathon at the moment, I just finished TJ Alexander's delightful book A Lady For All Seasons. I loved it so much!
Listening
: I'm revisiting Kate McKinnon's Millicent Quibb series, but on audiobook this time. Hearing her voice brings me a lot of joy.
Watching
: I'm still obsessed with The Pitt, and wish I could binge the whole season without waiting. I also watched Hamnet last night and feel that Jessie Buckley's Oscar was very well earned.
