Tennessee Booksellers: Stand Up Against Censorship!

The struggle for library freedom rages on in the Volunteer State after the Tennessee Secretary of State issued a series of letters directing libraries to conduct expensive material reviews based on vague and overly broad standards. 

Anti-censorship advocates statewide are beginning to organize, and bookstores who are so inclined have an important role to play in distributing information, speaking truth to power (where librarians’ hands are often tied), and standing up for books.
