SIBA members are eligible for free classes from the Professional Booksellers School as part of SIBA's PBS Sponsorship. The available classes focus on some of the nuts and bolts of bookstore finances and are recommended for prospective bookstores, new bookstore owners, and any booksellers who would like a refresher on basic concepts:

How many of us fly by the seat of our pants when it comes to budgeting for inventory? In this session, Candice Huber, Dean of Bookstore Finances for the Professional Booksellers School, will present practical and actionable steps for budgeting for buying, even if you're starting from scratch. This session is inclusive of a variety of business models, and comes with downloadable handouts.

It is also a useful refresher course for booksellers preparing to attend the New Voices New Rooms conference in August to place their frontlist and 4th quarter orders.
