NVNR 2026 Publicity Speed Dating (Virtual)
Pitch your store events programs to a Zoom room full of publicists.
NAIBA and SIBA present Publicity Speed Dating, a chance for our stores to pitch their event programs to a Zoom room full of publicists. Each store has a 15-minute time slot to present their publicity kit and pitch for the authors/event types they'd love to be hosting.
We have space for 6 SIBA stores in the morning and 5 SIBA stores in the afternoon. Only one person per store can register, but two staff members may appear on screen. The registration fee is $35/store.
What is Publicity Speed Dating?
Introduce your store and your event program in a 15-minute blitz to a Zoom room full of publicists! In virtual Publicity Speed Dating, you have a 15-minute time slot to introduce your bookstore, share your event capabilities, and make broad requests to fill your event calendar. 15 minutes is the total time, so we suggest a 10-minute pitch with 5 minutes left for questions. While you are pitching, your publicity kit will be shown on the screen, and publicists will also receive all of the kits.
Do you need to make a publicity kit? We have great resources to help you learn to build one to best show off your store. A "kit" is a double-sided PDF document that highlights your space, your event partners, your customer base, and your current events. You can see samples from many of our stores in the Peer Bookseller Resource Library.
Registration is free for publicists. You are welcome to attend for the full day (our preference) or for either the morning or afternoon. Register using this form by May 6th.
