Professional Bio

Candice Huber (they/them) is the owner of Tubby & Coo's Traveling Book Shop in New Orleans, LA, which curates queer, liberationist pocket bookstores featuring underrepresented voices inside inclusive spaces. They've been bookselling for more than 10 years, and they are also a bookstore finance coach, small publisher, and author. Candice wrote Carnival of Creatures, a compendium of monsters of Louisiana myth and legend that people can use in their tabletop roleplaying games, and owns TALES Publishing, which has thus far published four books.

Candice also works for the Professional Booksellers School as Dean of Bookstore Finances and as an instructor for the Store & Operations, Event Management, Inventory Management, and Bookstore Year One courses, among others. They developed and helped originate both the Store & Operations and Bookstore Finance courses. Their favorite genre is fantasy, especially queer fantasy, and more particularly, sword lesbians. They love cozy things, video games, board games, hanging out with their partner and cats, and creating spreadsheets and databases.
