Glossary of SIBA Trade Show Events –
Beloved Sponsors of the Trade Show do not pay author confirmation fees. If you are not a sponsor and are interested take a look:

Publishers & Authors:Please note that SIBA strives to build the best show possible and that our featured author slots go to the newest books first and come from exhibiting entities only. Books that are newly published in the fall of 2012 and the winter of 2013 are considered before any other titles.
Author Panels: All of the author panels take place on Friday. Author Panels are scheduled either from 11 AM - Noon, or from 4-5 PM. We plan panels around topics for which we have titles but we always try to do both a Children & Young Adult author panel. In years past we have had panels around State Books, History, Hideous & Haunting, and Book Club Reads. Any author on a panel should prepare to talk for no more than ten minutes and participate in a Q&A. Authors who appear on panels on will sign their books in the afternoon. 75 Books are required plus a $299 confirmation fee.
Kick-Off Author Lunch:This lunch is on Friday from Noon – 1:30 PM and often features books for children from up to four authors. Expected attendance is 100. Authors pre-sign 100 books. Featured authors should speak for no more than 15 minutes. In addition to the pre-signed books, a $299 confirmation fee is required.
The First 180 Days Party is modeled on the ABA’s successful Winter Institute Author Reception only all of the authors have new books coming in the first half of 2014. This is a signing event limited to 25 authors. 75 books are required and there is a $299 confirmation fee author.
SIBA Supper:This supper is on Friday night from 7 – 9 PM, and features up to four authors. Expected attendance is 200. Authors at this event will pre-sign 200 books. Featured authors should speak for no more than 15 minutes. A $299 confirmation fee is required.
Late Night Event: In special cases, we will feature an author of some standing at this Late Night opportunity. In the past, we have featured Gloria Gaynor, Marlo Thomas, Al Franken, Waylon Jennings, and we only offer this option if the author is a good fit. There is no confirmation fee.
Southern Lunch: This lunch is on Saturday from 1 – 2:30 PM and features up to three authors. Expected attendance is 150. Authors pre-sign 150 books. Featured authors should speak for no more than 15 minutes. In addition to the pre-signed books, a $299 confirmation fee is required.
Parapalooza is a new event we are hosting at SIBA this year on Saturday before the new Saturday Supper. Authors are invited to read, with meaning, feeling, and enthusiasm, a single favorite hand-picked paragraph from their book. 75 Books are required and a $299 author confirmation fee.
Saturday Supper: This supper is on Saturday night from 7 – 9 PM, and features up to four authors. Expected attendance is 200. Authors at this event will pre-sign 200 books. Featured authors should speak for no more than 15 minutes. A $299 confirmation fee is required.
Moveable Feast of Authors: This is the finale of the SIBA Trade Show and runs from Noon – 2 PM on Sunday followed by a 2-3 PM signing extravaganza. This event includes 20 authors at 20 tables. The authors rotate from table to table visiting with booksellers over the two hour time span. The authors must be available for a private brunch from 11 AM to Noon where they get their marching orders. This is a great event for all involved and is sponsored by Inkreadible Sponsor Bookazine. 75 books are needed per author and a $299 confirmation fee.
