Programs

SIBA’s educational programs are designed to provide a forum for booksellers to interact with publishers, authors, other members of the industry and, of course, each other. Educational sessions, workshops, and discussion groups are held at various venues throughout SIBA’s eleven-state territory every year, with the goal of providing at least one such session within driving distance of every member store every year.

Current SIBA Programs include

  • Annual Fall Trade Show
  • Bookseller Revivals
  • Atlanta Spring Book Show Educational Programming

  • Trade Show  ( 7 items )

The Trade Show is SIBA’s premiere event and one of the largest literary events in the South, attracting nearly 2000 booksellers, publishers and authors. It is held in September, and moves around the South. The show features two days of educational sessions for both new and veteran booksellers, across a wide range of topics covering finance, marketing and publicity for small businesses, and an exhibit area with hundreds of companies that can improve your bottom line. There are numerous opportunities to meet authors and talk to publishers about upcoming titles, as well as awards dinners, author lunches, and the SIBA annual meeting. All SIBA members receive three free passes to the Trade Show.

  • Atlanta Spring Book Show  ( 1 items )
SIBA, in partnership with Remainder News and Freight Management Systems, provides a series of educational sessions at the Atlanta Spring Book Show--the largest show for Remainder books in the South. Give your shop new energy with the ideas, tips and tricks you will learn from SIBA's educational sessions. Veteran booksellers and SIBA employees will be on hand to talk about everything from advertising to remainders, with stops along the way at book clubs, community events, marketing, merchandising, newsletters, SIBA benefits and much, much more!
